SUMMARY:IP Virtual Seminar for the Philippines
DESCRIPTION:The Specialty Soya and Grains Alliance\, in coordination with USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) Manila\, will host a webinar on the traceability and sustainability of identity-preserved (IP) soya and specialty grains for the Philippines market on February 8-9\, 2021\, 7-9 p.m. CST (Feb. 9-10\, 09:00-11:00 Philippines time). \nThe webinar will be an excellent opportunity for American suppliers to showcase high-quality\, safe and reliable U.S.-grown IP soya and specialty grains to Philippine importers. \nThe event will include a session of meetings called “IP B2B\,” featuring one-on-one match-making of American exporters and Philippine importers. \nDespite undergoing the world’s longest-running lockdown and having one of the worst-performing economies as a result of COVID-19\, the Philippines is the fastest-growing export market for U.S. agriculture outside China. The increasing consumer demand for high-quality soy milk\, tofu and craft beers makes the Philippines an attractive market for SSGA exporter members. The Philippines has been and will be a significantly promising emerging market for U.S. IP soya and specialty grains\, showing an upward trend in the last decade. In 2020\, the Philippines imported about $3.24 billion of U.S. agricultural and related products\, including $59 million in soybeans\, $847 million in soymeal and $15 million in pulses.
